- Bio-Arcane Barrage: Kog'Maw's attacks gain range and deal a percent of the target's maximum health as magic damage.

Pendragon tells us what Season One will bring to League of Legends.
- Ranked Games - Once Season One begins, summoners of Level 20 or above will be able to indulge in our ranked game system. At launch, ranked players will be able to join one of three queues: 3v3 Premade, 5v5 Premade, or 5v5 Solo. Players will receive an individual rating for each of these queues.
- Ladders - Once Ranked Play begins, players who choose to participate will have their Elo ratings displayed publicly on the League of Legends Ladder. On the ladder, players will be able to see just how they stack up against the rest of their fellow summoners. The ladder will be available on the League of Legends Community Site.
- Draft Mode - Champion selection during ranked play will take on the form of a live draft. In 5v5 premade and 3v3 premade, the first phase of this draft process will provide the inviter of each team with the opportunity to ban the use of two champions. Banned champions cannot be selected for use on either team, so choose wisely! After bans have been dispensed by both sides, the teams will begin the draft process. During ranked play, draft picks will be exclusive, meaning that a drafted champion will not be available for play by the opposing team. The team who received the second ban will begin the drafting process by drafting a single champion. Following that, the game will follow a 1:2:2:2:2:1 draft format for the 5v5 brackets and a 1:2:2:1 format for the 3v3 bracket. Through this system, we hope to encourage players to embrace a wider range of champions, allow for teams to effectively counter popular strategies, and develop a familiarity with their opponents and counter accordingly. Initially Draft Mode will be available both in Ranked Play and in practice games. Casual games still utilize blind pick during champion selection.
- Improved Visual Styles - Since our launch back in October of 2009, our UI Team has been hard at work improving the visual components of the PvP.net interface. With the substantial renovations required to support Ranked Games, now seemed like the opportune time to give the game a facelift. We wanted the new look for League of Legends to be brighter, more visually appealing, and easier to use. I could elaborate further, but I think that once you get a look at the accompanying screenshots their work will stand on its own.

League of Legends decides to remake its recommended items that defined most of its champions back in 2009. Phreak from the Riot Interm Team said that when making the new list of recommended items, they had these 5 main goals in mind.
- Early regeneration - With a few exceptions, we started everyone out with some bonus health or mana regeneration. While experts may skimp or use specialized builds like an Elixir of Fortitude, a Sight Ward, and a potion or two, or maybe rush a Mana Crystal for Catalyst the Protector, those who are still learning the game don’t have the luxury of such in-depth item knowledge. For these players, you really can’t go wrong with a solid starting item such as a Doran’s Shield.
- What’s the most common build? - Everyone has their favorite item builds. Some argue over the merits of “Tankplank” vs “Critplank.” Some rise above it all and simply play attack damage Annie (Annie has the worst DPS in the game). However, when looking at a champion in League of Legends, it’s usually pretty easy to see just what your champion was supposed to do, so we recommend items that fill those roles.
- Help your team! - Where possible, I tried to include helpful aura items like Aegis of the Legion, Soul Shroud, Stark’s Fervor, and Innervating Locket. These items are all great in their own right, but you never know when those underrated team buffs are going to come in handy and win the game.
- Complimentary items - Physical damage dealers make use of 3 main stats: Damage, attack speed, and critical chance. Efficiently building your champion via physical attacks requires investment in all of these categories. Similarly, mages use Ability Power as well as cooldown reduction, mana, and Magic Penetration. Tanks need to be prepared for all sorts of damage output, so the triumvirate of health, armor, and magic resist is included in their recommended items. Building a well-rounded character is invaluable on the road to success.
- No snowball items - The recommended items are intended for new players. Everyone has their favorite builds once they grow accustomed to the game, but if you’re just starting out as Annie, you may not even know what Mejai’s Soulstealer is, let alone how to properly utilize it! Chances are you won’t be dominating the game, so you won’t fully capitalize on the snowball mechanic. Once players get comfortable with the game, it feels good to make that conscious choice to say, “I’m going to carry this game,” and invest in the future.

By popular demand players can now buy a per-win IP and XP Boosts maximizing their IP and XP boosts as they play since it will only kick in everytime they win (losing doesn't care and they will receive normal IP and XP instead of a boosted one).
Per Win IP and XP Boosts won't be applied to the following scenarios:
- Games where the player loses
- Games where the player leaves/disconnects (and doesn't rejoin)
- Practice games with uneven teams on game start
- Games that don’t last longer than 10 minutes
- Practice games for players higher than level 11, that have played more than 4 practice games in that 24 hour period

With the Rise of the Noobs season coming to an end BLC introduces a new team system and new player profiles for all the beta testers. Here's an excerpt from their official news announcement.
Player Profiles
The new player profiles are here with added information about player ladder statistics as well as their team memberships. The teams themselves are viewable as well, and on top of this a search system able to find both players and teams is implemented.
The Team System
The new Team system is now online! Currently a team consists of 3 players in a more permanent grouping, with their own team name and banner. This team is then able to compete against other Teams in the new Team Arena 3v3 Leagues.
